Course Description and Expectations; Syllabus 

Wednesday, September 8 - Vocabulary quiz on material from home practice for week of 8/23/10

Friday, September 10 -

  • MW1:5, pp. 62-63
  • 8th grade only - star words logs due

Monday, September 13 -

  • 7th grade - will receive new star words
  • 7th and 8th grade will have fluency checked.

Ongoing:

  • For most students the home practice for this week will remain the same as last week until we test next  Wednesday (9/9). However some students will be reading "Bubble Trouble," readers 1-6 instead of "Hints on Pronunciation". If this is the case, they have been given a copy of the new reading, and parents can print a read along copy here.  All vocabulary is the same for everyone.
  • All students have new Star Words which need to be logged by Tuesday, September 7th and placed in their writing binders in the vocabulary section. Star words will not be reassigned until Monday, September 13.
  • Five signatures for home practice and five signatures for star words are due on September 13 for the student to earn full credit.

Monday, September 13 - Bring completed examples for layers of social studies Q notes (They were sent to your email.)

Tuesday, September 14 - Layers of Social Studies Test - be able to match identifying statements with the terms and provide examples of each.

  • These Q-notes have the meanings written in. You will add your own examples in class. 

Wednesday, September 15 - I'll need the decision on which Historical halloween figure you will represent. Please make sure parents support your choice.

Friday, September 17 - US states test. Know all states east of the Mississippi River. Practice for this test using this website: www.sheppardsoftware.com
