Summer
Reading Program

The primary goal of the Summer Reading Program is to get students excited about reading and writing. The purposes of the Bodine School Summer Reading Program are to maintain literacy skills previously taught, to introduce new literacy skills, and to minimize loss of literacy skills. Bodine School’s Summer Reading program is held every June, Monday through Thursday, and is a half-day program.

This year’s Summer Reading Program will be held June 3- 27, 2024, and is open to all rising 1-6 students.

Morning Session: Drop-off anytime from 8:00-8:30 AM; instruction from 8:30-11:30; and dismissal at 11:30.
Afternoon Session: Drop-off anytime from 12:30-1:00 PM; instruction from 1:00-4:00; and dismissal at 4:00.

The application process for the Summer Reading Program is separate from the elementary school process.

The Information Session will consist of a presentation about our day school program, Summer Reading Program, information about dyslexia, a tour of Bodine School, observations of Orton Gillingham instruction, a walkthrough of our admissions process, and dyslexia simulation lab activities.
