Bodine School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies upon donations to provide an excellent elementary school experience for students with dyslexia.

Brand New Bathrooms

For over 50 years, Bodine School has been leading the Mid-South in teaching students with dyslexia to read and succeed. Initially intended as a boarding school, Bodine has evolved and adapted over the years to better serve the dyslexic community and the students and families who have passed through our halls. As we continue to grow and improve, so too should our building be enhanced to reflect the quality of our program. To this end, we are embarking on the first phase of a Campus Master Plan: updating the Bodine School restrooms that have previously remained unchanged since the 1970s. I know what you’re thinking…finally!

Currently, the school’s restrooms consist of two very cramped 3-stall restrooms, one each for boys and girls, and 2 large “locker room” style restrooms with 3 showers and one stall each. While this layout made sense for a small boarding school, it is less than fitting for an elementary school setting. The proposed plan for renovation includes the following changes and additions:

•            Removal of the “locker rooms” to be replaced with a large girl’s restroom with 8 stalls and 4 sinks

•            Transformation of the smaller restrooms into a large boy’s restroom with 4 stalls, 4 urinals, and 4 sinks

•            The addition of two ADA compliant adult and family restrooms

Say goodbye to the yellow!
