The primary goal of the Summer Reading Program is to get students excited about reading and writing. The purposes of the Bodine School Summer Reading Program are to maintain literacy skills previously taught, to introduce new literacy skills, and to minimize loss of literacy skills. Bodine School’s Summer Reading program is held every June, Monday through Thursday, and is a half-day program.
Due to the increased interest in the Summer Reading Program, and feedback from our Bodine families, we will now be offering an afternoon option in addition to our previously offered morning option. We are excited to have the opportunity to serve more students and offer options to accommodate families’ summertime scheduling. This year’s Summer Reading Program will be held June 6- 30, 2022, and is open to all rising 1-6 students.
Morning Session: Drop-off anytime from 8:00-8:30 AM; instruction from 8:30-11:30; and dismissal at 11:30.
Afternoon Session: Drop-off anytime from 12:30-1:00 PM; instruction from 1:00-4:00; and dismissal at 4:00.
We will be offering a $100 off Early Bird Special for families who register their students before March 1.
The application process for the Summer Reading Program is separate from the elementary school process. Registration for the 2022 Summer Reading Program will open on February 15, 2022.
Bodine School will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, January 11 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 for families who are interested in our Summer Reading Program and day school programs. The Open House will consist of a presentation about our academic programs, a tour of Bodine School, and dyslexia simulation lab activities. To RSVP for our Open House, please click here.
