Summer Reading Program

The primary goal of the Summer Reading Program is to get students excited about reading and writing. The purposes of the Bodine School Summer Reading Program are to maintain literacy skills previously taught, to introduce new literacy skills, and to minimize loss of literacy skills.

The application process for the Summer Reading Program is separate from the elementary school process, and registration typically opens in February. This year, Summer Reading Program Registration will open February 10.

The upcoming Summer Reading Program will be held June 1-25, 2020, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

There are some exciting changes for this year’s Summer Reading Program! Due to the success of last July’s Kick Off to Kindergarten camp, Bodine School is happy to announce its expansion of the Summer Reading Program to include rising kindergarten students.

In addition to opening registration to rising kindergarten students, we will also be offering an aftercare service, Bodine Summer Adventures, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Students will be able to enjoy an afternoon of games and outdoor play to accompany their hard work in the morning during the Summer Reading Program.

We are currently at or, nearing capacity in grades 3rd through 6th for our Summer Reading Program. Please email our Director of Admissions, Lauren Malone, at lmalone@bodineschool.org/ to check availability of seats or to be placed on a waiting pool for grades that have filled.
