Summer Reading Program

The primary goal of the Summer Reading Program is to get students excited about reading and writing. The purposes of the Bodine School Summer Reading Program are to maintain literacy skills previously taught, to introduce new literacy skills, and to minimize loss of literacy skills. Bodine School’s Summer Reading program is held every June, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m

The application process for the Summer Reading Program is separate from the elementary school process, and registration typically opens in February. For more information about Bodine School’s Summer Reading Program, please contact our Director of Admissions, Lauren Malone at lmalone@bodineschool.org.

We have made the decision to modify this year’s Summer Reading Program in light of the evolving reality of COVID-19. For the past several months, we have been monitoring the situation closely with the goal of prioritizing health and safety for all in our community.

Given the uncertain trajectory of the virus and our desire to support public health efforts to contain its spread, we have made several changes to this year’s Summer Reading Program. Bodine School’s Summer Reading Program will be held virtually and will be limited to students in rising 2nd through 6th grade students who are current, former, and incoming Bodine day school students. We will subsequently be unable to hold our Summer Adventures Camp originally scheduled to coincide with the Summer Reading Program.

We will be accepting registration for eligible candidates until May 22. Please email Lauren Malone at lmalone@bodineschool.org for more information on how to register your child for this year’s program.
